Half Marathon Training - Brooklyn Half
If you've been doing some running this past year and participated in a few smaller road races, and would like to take your running to another level but aren't quite ready for a full marathon, then our Half Marathon program is for you. If you're already familiar with this distance, we can help you set a PR.
The twice weekly workouts for this class meet in Prospect Park and are geared toward those fit individuals who can already run 5 miles continuously. We will work with you to hone your existing running and fitness skills with an emphasis on pace and increased endurance. Each workout is generally 60 minutes but several of our weekend meetings will run longer as we increase our distance. Our group workouts will provide you with the support, encouragement and consistency needed to get you to the starting line. The Brooklyn Half is a scenic and challenging course which will take you from Prospect Park and finish at Coney Island. We will be there for you on race day. If the Brooklyn Half Marathon is not your preferred event this class will also prepare you for any late May/early June half marathon. Race entry is not included with program registration.
In addition to our twice weekly workouts we'll have weekly online updates on what we'll be doing in class that week as well as our suggested in-between class 'homework'. Program registration does not include race registration.
Fee: $195
Day/Date/Time: Every Wednesday from 7:00-8:00pm and Sunday mornings at 9:00am - 10 weeks.
Where: We will meet at the Grand Army Plaza entrance to Prospect Park
