Swim Level II - Technique & Endurance, Mondays

Time: 6:30pm every Monday

Description:

You've already realized how important good form is for swimming. You've also realized how hard it is to maintain good form for the duration of your swim. Swim II picks up after Swim I (though you needn't have taken Swim I)! by helping you refine your technique, and develop the endurance to maintain good technique for longer and longer swims.

Each week head coach John Stewart will create a different workout with drills for form and long distance swims to develop endurance. You will learn to maintain your form over long continuous swims. You'll also spend a great deal of time on pacing, with the goal of maintaining consistent times over multiple intervals, even as you get tired. For triathletes, we will also practice sprinting, drafting, and other tri specific skills. In addition, John will provide one or two workouts and drills for you to do on your own so you maintain fitness and feel for the water inbetween classes. At the end of this class you'll feel much more capable of long continuous swims without feeling like you need a rest.

Where/When:  This 10 week program meets every Monday evening at 6:30pm at Seahorse Fitness.  Seahorse is located at 69 Columbia St, off of the F,J,M, or Z trains Delancey Street stop.  Classes begin Monday, September 27th and finish December 6th. There will be no class November 22nd for the Thanksgiving week holiday.
